Basic information and Courses

In 1976, the department of inorganic chemistry and the department of physical chemistry were established in the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences to meet the great needs of medical college students for basic chemical knowledge. In 2006, the former department of inorganic chemistry and the former department of physical chemistry merged to form the new department of inorganic and physicalchemistry. The department undertakes the courses of inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, medicinal polymer materials for undergraduate, polytechnic and correspondence students, and general chemistry for international students.

Staffs

At present, the number of full-time faculty and staff of our department is 8, including 4 professors, 2 associate professors, 2 lecturers, 2 doctoral supervisors and 5 master tutors in this department. We have two professors awarded with the "Challenge Cup" excellent instructor of the extracurricular academic and technological competition works of Hebei university students, 1 outstanding young scholar of Hebei Province, 1 professor supported by the Hundred-Talent Program of Hebei Province, 1 Outstanding Teacher of Hebei Province and 1 Jiqing Star of Hebei Province. Besides, the teachers in our department have won some honorary title of Hebei Medical University including Excellent Teacher, Young and Middle-aged Backbone Teacher, Top Ten Young people, Excellent Communist Party Member and Advanced Individual of "Three Education".

Honors and Awards in teaching

The teachers in this department have made excellent achievements in guiding college students' innovative practice project and won a series of awards including the second prize of academic science and technology work competition and second prize of cross innovation competition in the national college students "Challenge Cup"; the grand and first prize of of Hebei Province "Challenge Cup"; the second, third prize and Excellent Paper award in the National Medicine Forum for College Students; the second, third and excellent prize of Innovation experiment plan for college students in Hebei Province and the excellent paper award of University Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program in Jing-Jin-Ji Region. The produced popular science micro-videos have won the national third prize and the third provincial prize of "the Create Youth" and so on. Besides, the undergraduates under the guidance have published 15 academic papers. Among them, 8 academic papers are indexed by SCI, 6 academic papers are indexed by core journals and 1 academic paper is indexed by provincial journal.

For the projects and achievements in teaching, the teachers in our department have participated in the compilation of five teaching materials, undertook one educational and teaching reform project of Hebei Province, seven school-level reform projects, and won the second and third prize at school-level respectively. 5 papers about teaching reform were published. The teachers have won the special prize of "the Second National Pharmaceutical College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Experimental Teaching Reform Competition", the second prize and the third prize of Education and Teaching Informatization Grand Prix in Hebei province.

Interests, Grants and Publications in Research

The research fields of this department mainly focus on supramolecular drug systems, biosensors based on novel nanomaterials, drug delivery systems based on tumor microenvironment, nano-drugs, etc. Our department have received more than 20 grants funds from “the National Natural Science Foundation of China”, “Natural Science Foundation of Hebei province”, “Key Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Hebei province”, Scientific Research Foundation of the Higher Education Institutions of Hebei Province, Support Plan for "100 Innovative Talents in Universities" of Hebei Province, "100 Talents Project" of Hebei Province and the Youth Top-notch Talents Supporting Plan of Hebei Province, etc. In addition, the teachers in our department have won the second prize and third prize of Hebei Province Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Youth Science and Technology Award of Hebei Province. Moreover, 4 national invention patents were applied and more than 30 papers indexed by SCI were published in international well-known journal, including Chemical Science, J.Mater.Chem. C，Microchimica Acta，Analytica Chimica Acta, International Journal of Nanomedicine，Materials Science & Engineering C，Mol. Pharmaceutics…….
